About the position

The Mechanical Engineering Department at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) invites applications for an assistant professor of practice position to start Fall 2025 semester. The department offers an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Responsibilities

  • Enhance the teaching, service, and capabilities of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
  • Teach a broad range of undergraduate mechanical engineering courses, from lower to upper-level, encompassing thermal-fluids, mechanics, and design (including senior design).

Requirements

  • Earned Ph.D. in Mechanical or in a closely related field from an accredited university (at least conferred before the start date).
  • Significant industrial experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching a broad range of undergraduate mechanical engineering courses.
