About the position

The University of New Mexico is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Architecture to teach Architectural Design. This position is aimed at candidates with expertise in architectural design and innovative teaching methods for beginning design students. The successful candidate will coordinate lower division studios, participate in departmental activities, and contribute to research and scholarship in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and coordinate undergraduate and/or graduate design studios.
  • Serve on department and school committees.
  • Participate in departmental, school, and university activities.
  • Engage in research, scholarship, and/or creative work related to architecture.
  • Contribute to the development of new teaching methodologies.

Requirements

  • A terminal degree in Architecture (M Arch, post-professional master's degree, or PhD).
  • Demonstrated potential to coordinate and teach design studios.
  • A record of accomplishment in scholarly work or peer-reviewed activity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to teach, co-teach, and/or coordinate design studios or workshops.
  • Innovative research and scholarship recognized in publications and presentations.
