About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Assembly Working Team Lead to guide our Power Products Madison assembly team in delivering high-quality plenums and related products. This role combines technical assembly expertise with strong leadership, ensuring efficient workflows, safe practices, and continuous improvement across the production floor. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver, a mentor, and a dependable team leader who takes pride in precision, quality, and developing others.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED, plus three to five years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with concepts such as plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach, and use hands.
  • Must regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Directly responsible for 5-10 employees in the Assembly area.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities including training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles functional parts of plenums using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs the work of assemblers.
  • Confers with managers, engineers, production personnel, or others to resolve issues.
  • Reports information on employee progress for performance evaluations.
  • Mentors new employees or designates suitable mentor.
  • Evaluates processes for ways to improve quality, tooling usage, and run times.
  • Responsible for 6S areas.
  • Reads and understands blueprints.
  • Directs assemblers on proper processes and techniques.
  • Assembles functional parts of enclosures and tanks using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
  • Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data.
  • Reports quality issues to QA and Manager.
  • Uses forklifts, cranes, and other lifting apparatus to aid in the assembly process.
  • May operate welding equipment to cut or weld parts.
  • Cleans and organizes work area.
