Assembly Technician

About the position

Responsibilities include assembly of specialized aerospace components containing threaded inserts, bushings, bearings, and pins. Assembly of these components will utilize various techniques and equipment such as hydraulic presses, thermal expansion, pneumatic tools, and hand tools. Other duties will be at the discretion of the team leader. These duties can include buffing, polishing, and rework on certain jobs or wherever duties are needed within the department. Work independently or with minimal direction from Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Work from blue prints and follow routers, corrective actions and other forms of written, verbal, and visual instruction.
• Utilization of equipment to perform assembly processes.
• Use various hand and power tools to remove burrs, tool marks, and other visual defects from metal work pieces.
• Scrutinize every facet of job and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to Supervisor.
• Perform housekeeping chores as department requirements dictate.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.
• Ability to perform the duties of the job applying basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Basic computing skills.
• Mechanical ability is necessary.
