About The Position

Specializing in the repair and refurbishment of locomotives and railcars, CAD Railway Industries is currently hiring ASSEMBLERS. We are looking for motivated, detail-oriented, and positive individuals to fill various positions within the company.

Requirements

• DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in one of the following fields: assembly fitting, automotive or industrial mechanics, heavy equipment repair;
• Ability to read blueprints and perform basic calculations;
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team;
• Ability to read procedures in English;
• Good physical condition and ability to work in challenging conditions: heat and cold, noise, dust, and odors;
• Ability to assemble and precisely adjust mechanical components according to technical drawings and specifications;
• Knowledge of tools, mechanical parts, and industrial assembly methods;
• Strict adherence to safety standards and ability to safely handle heavy equipment;
• Good physical condition and manual dexterity to work on various parts and in different positions;
• Team-oriented with strong punctuality to support production deadlines and coordination with other departments.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with locomotives or in a railway environment, an asset;
• Flexibility with work schedules;
• Flexible regarding assigned tasks (primarily evening shift).
• Motivated to learn and develop skills;

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematics to determine assembly procedures;
• Assemble and adjust parts according to procedures to form sub-assemblies or finished products using hand or power tools;
• Fasten parts using bolting or riveting equipment, or other fastening and assembly methods;
• Move and align sub-assemblies and components using lifting and transport equipment, including overhead cranes;
• Install large components such as gearboxes, pumps, motors, or hydraulic components;
• Inspect and verify the quality of work;
• Complete production reports;
• Store equipment and maintain a clean work area;
• Perform any other tasks as required by Operations.
