About The Position

The Assembler I assembles valves or valve sub-assemblies, partially or completely. In all actions, the employee supports Aquestia’s quality policies, safety policies and core company values of Fairness, Honesty, and Integrity. The role requires reading job orders to understand assignments, positioning parts, and fastening them together with bolts, screws, or other fasteners. It also involves removing small quantities of metal with hand files or power sanders for a close fit, and operating drills, air-powered tools, and hoists. The Assembler I must ensure department SOP quality requirements are followed, maintain quality specifications, and keep accurate production records in the ERP system. The position functions in accordance with ISO9001 procedures and follows established Lean Manufacturing and 6-S procedures. This role possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job and works under the close supervision of senior personnel. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One year minimum related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, and kneel.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment up to 40–50 lbs.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to manage tools, components, and small parts with manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and physical activity typical of a production floor.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions for extended periods without assistance.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel‑toe shoes, or respirators when necessary.
  • Ability to visually inspect materials or products and read displays, labels, or gauges.

  • Read job order to gain a thorough understanding of the current assignment and to identify any non-standard requirements.
  • Position parts accordingly.
  • Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, or another fastener.
  • Remove small quantities of metal with hand files or power sanders to produce close fit between parts.
  • Operate drills, air powered tools and hoists to assist in the assembly process.
  • Assure department SOP quality requirements are followed for every order.
  • Maintain quality specifications throughout production runs.
  • Maintain accurate production records within the ERP reporting system.
  • Function in accordance with ISO9001 procedures.
  • Follow established Lean Manufacturing and 6-S procedures.
