About The Position

This is a full-time AMD (Autonomous Manufacturing Development) Member position with a CSD (Continuous Skills Development) Pillar Team Member role. The position involves supporting DDS (Daily Direct Setting) and adhering to plant LockOut/TagOut (LOTO) policies. The role requires obtaining work schedules, daily production paperwork, and preparing for operations. Responsibilities include inspecting and assembling cleaned production equipment, setting up processes, visually inspecting and sorting products, and reporting any deviations to supervisors and QA personnel. The assembler must maintain a clean work area and may be assigned to various jobs within the department, including covering for vacations or absenteeism. Specific duties are detailed for the Pack, Boxing, and Slicing areas, involving tasks such as counting and placing products, monitoring packaging processes, filling boxes, stacking cases on pallets, and operating slicing machines. The role also includes performing machine breakdowns, cleaning, general housekeeping, and completing required documentation.

  • Ability to fill box maker magazine with stacks of case blanks.
  • Ability to assemble boxes.
  • Ability to place label on box and change tape rolls as needed.
  • Ability to position empty pallet to exit end of case sealer conveyor.
  • Ability to hand stack sealed cases on pallet according to stack pattern.
  • Ability to manually wrap full pallets.
  • Ability to transport pallets to staging area with a power jack as required.
  • Ability to strip and rework product.
  • Ability to slicing area duties: check production schedule for product being run.
  • Ability to check to ensure the proper packaging supplies are available.
  • Ability to obtain packaging supplies from staging area with a pallet jack.
  • Ability to position packaging supplies to packaging line as needed.
  • Ability to obtain meat products from rack.
  • Ability to manually cut tails on thick and wide products.
  • Ability to place meat products onto slicer machine.
  • Ability to set cut / sliced meat on scale to check weights.
  • Ability to place cut / sliced meat in tub as required.
  • Ability to place cut / sliced meat products into pockets on vacuum pack line.
  • Ability to monitor line and weights.
  • Ability to monitor equipment.
  • Ability to clear jams.
  • Ability to check labels.
  • Ability to perform quality checks as required.
  • Ability to perform job duties according to work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with plant LockOut/TagOut (LOTO) policy and implement correct procedures.
  • Obtain work schedule, daily production paperwork, and prepare for operations.
  • Inspect and assemble cleaned production equipment and set up processes according to the product being run.
  • Visually inspect, sort, and arrange products on the conveyor, removing non-conforming product.
  • Report any deviations in product or machine requirements to the supervisor and QA personnel.
  • Keep the work area clear and clean, placing trash in proper receptacles and complying with 5S requirements.
  • Perform any job in the department, including covering for vacations or unexpected absenteeism.
  • Count out and place products into slots on the conveyor according to work order specifications for packing.
  • Monitor the vacuum packaging process, visually inspect packages, and remove non-conforming product.
  • Consolidate rework tubs for future processing and assist other Operators and Assemblers.
  • Hand fill boxes with products according to work order specifications and pack special orders.

  • Strip and rework product as required.
  • Check the production schedule for the product being run and ensure proper packaging supplies are available.
  • Obtain packaging supplies from the staging area with a pallet jack and position them to the packaging line.
  • Obtain meat products from the rack, manually cut tails, or place products onto the slicer machine.
  • Set cut/sliced meat on a scale to check weights and place in tubs.
  • Place cut/sliced meat products into pockets on the vacuum pack line, monitor the line and weights.
  • Monitor equipment, clear jams, check labels, and perform quality checks.
  • Perform job duties according to specified work instructions.
  • Break down and clean machine parts at the end of the shift or when necessary.
  • Secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties, and complete all required documentation at the end of the shift.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
