About the position
As an Assembler at Sonoco, you will be responsible for helping to keep the new reel assembly line running efficiently and safely. This position requires excellent attendance and a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with various teams, utilizing your analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail to spot defects in the assembly line. The role involves collaborating with other departments, troubleshooting problems, making process adjustments, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. You will also perform duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies and assist other departments as needed.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with other departments and teams.
- Think on your feet and troubleshoot problems and situations.
- Make incremental process adjustments and monitor the quality of manufactured products.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Perform all duties as designated by supervisor/manager.
- Support Sonoco’s quality and safety policies.
- Help out other departments as needed.
Requirements
- Proven record of success in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with various teams.
- Good eye to spot defects in the assembly line.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs as needed.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
- Ability to perform repetitious duties, including standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
