About The Position

Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) is seeking an exceptional educator to join their learning community as an Art Teacher for the Middle and/or Senior School. This is a permanent, full-time position starting in August 2026. GNS educators are part of a collegial and collaborative team that supports the delivery of International Baccalaureate (IB) units integrated with the BC curriculum. The school emphasizes supporting and inspiring students' academic, co-curricular, and personal growth through a high level of pastoral care. Teachers are expected to make active contributions to co-curricular programs and fully participate in the school community culture.

Requirements

  • Valid BC teaching certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Art at the middle and/or senior school level.
  • Passionate and practicing artist-educator.
  • Ability to inspire creativity, curiosity, and self-expression in students.
  • Experience working across a variety of artistic mediums and techniques.
  • Strong grounding in inquiry-based and project-based learning.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive, student-centred classroom.
  • Caring and compassionate educator.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching MYP or DP Art is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Art at the middle and/or senior school level.
  • Support the delivery of International Baccalaureate (IB) units that incorporate the BC curriculum.
