About the position
The Armed Vault Teller position at Loomis Armored US, LLC in Knoxville, TN, offers a part-time opportunity with a pay rate of $16.00 per hour. The role is primarily focused on the management of vault cargo items, which includes receiving, verifying, sorting, dispersing, and maintaining an inventory of these items. The position is scheduled for the PM shift, starting at 1:30 PM and continuing until close, with part-time hours available from 5 PM to 10 PM. The job requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to handle physical tasks, as the vault teller will be responsible for loading and unloading heavy bags and boxes of currency and coins, each weighing an average of 50 lbs. In this role, the vault teller will check identifying numbers or seals on bags of deposits and change shipments against accompanying receipts or provided listings. They will also be responsible for counting items, recording amounts and serial numbers, and signing and dating receipts and manifests. Effective communication is essential, as the vault teller will interact verbally with co-workers and customers via telephone. The working conditions involve working in a vault with limited exposure to outside light, and the full-time schedule may consist of an average of 40 to 50 hours per week, with a minimum of 5 days during a 6-day period. Additionally, candidates must complete a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) as part of the qualification process for the Vault Custodian position.
Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, sort, disperse and account for vault cargo items.
- Check identifying numbers or seals on bags of deposits and/or change shipments against receipts.
- Count items, record amounts and serial numbers, sign and date receipts and manifests.
- Load/unload wagons or flatbed carts with bags/boxes of coin weighing an average of 50 lbs. per item.
- Load/unload buggies containing bags of currency/checks weighing an average of 50 lbs. per item.
- Sort individual cargo items by route.
- Communicate verbally with co-workers and customers via telephone.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items weighing an average of 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash and inventory.
