About the position

The Area Manager for Ready Mix Operations at 711 Materials, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the production, distribution, and delivery of ready-mix concrete in the Eastern Sierras region. This role focuses on managing plant operations, ensuring quality control, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence while maintaining safety standards and fostering strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of ready-mix plants in the Eastern Sierras region, ensuring efficient production and timely delivery of high-quality ready-mix concrete, including managing aggregate operations.
  • Manage and lead a team of plant managers, drivers, and other staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a motivated and skilled workforce.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to produce consistent, high-quality concrete that meets industry standards and customer specifications, focusing on the quality of the aggregates.
  • Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to understand and meet customer demands, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, complying with all relevant regulations and the industry's best practices.
  • Monitor and analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement, implementing changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity, including optimizing aggregate usage.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, ensuring cost-effective operations and achieving financial targets.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders, representing the company professionally and positively.
  • Lead and oversee special projects related to plant upgrades, new technology implementation, and process improvements, ensuring successful completion within budget and timeline.
  • Manage the sourcing, processing, and quality control of aggregates used in concrete production, ensuring materials meet required specifications and are utilized efficiently.

Requirements

  • Leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
