Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in a pellet mill or similar operation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Specialized knowledge in wood pellet production processes and industrial operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including experience with relevant software.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.
  • Willingness and ability to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.
  • Willingness and ability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
  • Willingness and ability to work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

  • Professional certification in a relevant field.
  • Experience with process optimization and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Leadership experience in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the pellet mill operations to ensure efficient and safe production.
  • Oversee daily activities, including production scheduling, quality control, and maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety rules and regulations, including the proper use of safety equipment.
  • Monitor and manage operational costs to meet budgetary goals.
  • Lead and develop a team of employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize supply chain and logistics.
  • Implement and maintain process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
