About the position
The Apprentice Craftsperson (Transportation) at Tulsa Public Schools is responsible for assisting the Master Craftsperson in repairing and maintaining district vehicles, including diesel, gasoline, and alternative fueled vehicles. This role involves performing preventative maintenance under supervision and requires a commitment to obtaining necessary certifications and licenses.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Master Craftsperson with repairing district vehicles.
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles under guidance.
- Maintain tools and equipment used in vehicle repair and maintenance.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Two (2) years' experience as a bus mechanic.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical.
- Willingness to obtain Class A CDL.
- Willingness to acquire a Class 'B' CDL with Passenger and School bus endorsement.
- State of Oklahoma School Bus Driving Certificate, Air brake, and School bus endorsement.
