Shriners Children’s Chicago offers specialized care for a wide range of pediatric orthopedic, bone and joint conditions, including rare diseases and syndromes. Other specialties include spine and scoliosis care, plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate care, comprehensive rehabilitation and spinal cord injuries. The Appointment Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the master schedule of patient appointments for outpatient clinic visits. This includes scheduling appointments for new and return patients, ensuring the patient is registered in the EMR, sending notifications of upcoming appointments to patients, maintaining the clinic schedule, and orienting new patients and families to the clinic.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 Year Microsoft Office Applications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS); must obtain within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Registers patient correctly which includes updating addresses, insurance, guardianship and health information.
  • Accurately schedules individual patient appointments.
  • Provides excellence in customer service to all customers, patients, families, Shriners, visitors and other employees.
