About the position
The Applications Engineering Internship at JR Automation offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the automation industry. Interns will work closely with experienced Applications Engineers, contributing to the design and implementation of custom automation solutions for various industries. This role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and innovation, allowing interns to engage in real-world projects while developing their technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist and support Applications Engineers in designing custom automation lines for customers.
- Collaborate with applications, mechanical, and controls engineers to brainstorm and vet automation solutions.
- Create CAD models and conduct automation timing studies.
- Prepare quote materials for customers and communicate directly with them to gather requirements.
- Reach out to vendors for product quotes and expertise.
- Develop, build, and present an intern project to management and the applications team.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.
Nice-to-haves
- Basic proficiency in CAD.
- Basic knowledge of electrical/pneumatic schematic drawing packages.
