About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract position. The role primarily involves working as an application support analyst, specifically supporting the Underwriting application known as CreditCenter. The successful candidate will be responsible for incident management and conducting proper problem follow-up to ensure the smooth operation of the application. Proactive monitoring and management of the production environment is essential, along with troubleshooting and resolving application problems, which may include job failures and feed management. In addition to these responsibilities, the Application Programmer will be tasked with improving and creating documentation of support policies and procedures. A deep understanding of the business processes supported by the system is crucial, as is the ability to support application releases, implementations, upgrades, and changes into the environment. The role requires ensuring continuity and quality by owning the resolution of issues across platforms, tracking progress, and escalating as appropriate until resolution is reached. Maintaining a current knowledge base of known defects, issues, processes, and techniques is also a key part of the job. The Application Programmer will participate in production support rotation, responding to and resolving production problems, and supporting critical business initiatives such as application deployments, infrastructure changes, industry-wide tests, or disaster recovery tests. Building strong partnerships with development, infrastructure, and platform teams is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Work as an application support analyst primarily supporting the Underwriting application, CreditCenter
  • Responsible for incident management and conducting proper problem follow-up
  • Proactively monitor and manage the production environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application problems including but not limited to job failures, feed management, monitoring, etc.
  • Improve and or create documentation of support policies and procedures
  • Understand, in depth, the business processes supported by the system
  • Support application releases, implementations, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment
  • Ensure continuity and quality by owning the resolution of issues across platforms
  • Track progress and escalate as appropriate unless resolution reached
  • Ensure that applications and related services are documented and kept current
  • Maintain a knowledge base of known defects and issues, process, techniques etc.
  • Take part in production support rotation, and responding and resolving production problems
  • Support critical business initiatives such as application deployments (Pre Post activities), infrastructure changes, Industry-wide tests, or Disaster Recovery tests
  • Build strong partnership with Development, Infrastructure and platform teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in development or production support
  • 5+ years in Salesforce, Oracle Database, SQL Server Database, J2EE, UNIX, Windows, MQ, MuleSoft
  • Ability to solve production down situations under tight SLA deadlines, including root cause and problem resolution follow-up
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to organize time, work on multiple tasks, and follow tasks and projects through to completion, while keeping all interested parties properly updated
  • Experience with Autosys (job scheduler)
  • Experience with SoapUI
  • Experience with Informatica
