About the position
Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract position. The role primarily involves working as an application support analyst, specifically supporting the Underwriting application known as CreditToolkit. The successful candidate will be responsible for incident management and conducting proper problem follow-up, ensuring that the production environment is proactively monitored and managed. Troubleshooting and resolving application problems, including job failures and feed management, will be key aspects of the role. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with improving and creating documentation of support policies and procedures, as well as gaining an in-depth understanding of the business processes supported by the system. The Application Programmer will support application releases, implementations, upgrades, and changes into the environment, ensuring continuity and quality by owning the resolution of issues across platforms. Tracking progress and escalating issues as appropriate, unless resolution is reached, is also a critical responsibility. The candidate will ensure that applications and related services are documented and kept current, maintaining a knowledge base of known defects and issues, processes, and techniques. Participation in production support rotation and responding to production problems will be required, along with building strong partnerships with Development, Infrastructure, and platform teams.
Responsibilities
- Work as an application support analyst primarily supporting the Underwriting application, CreditToolkit
- Responsible for incident management and conducting proper problem follow-up
- Proactively monitor and manage the production environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve application problems including but not limited to job failures, feed management, monitoring etc.
- Improve and or create documentation of support policies and procedures
- Understand in depth the business processes supported by the system
- Support application releases, implementations, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment
- Ensure continuity and quality by owning the resolution of issues across platforms
- Track progress and escalate as appropriate unless resolution reached
- Ensure that applications and related services are documented and kept current
- Maintain a knowledge base of known defects and issues, process, techniques etc.
- Take part in production support rotation, and respond to and resolve production problems
- Build strong partnership with Development, Infrastructure and platform teams
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in development or production support
- 5+ years in Appian, Oracle Database, SQL Server Database, J2EE, UNIX, Windows, MQ, MuleSoft
- Able to solve production down situations under tight SLA deadlines, including root cause and problem resolution follow-up
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to organize time, work on multiple tasks, and follow tasks and projects through to completion, while keeping all interested parties properly updated
- Experience with Autosys (job scheduler)
- Experience with SoapUI
- Experience with Informatica
