About the position

The Application Programmer/Imaging Tool III at Honu Services is responsible for designing and building applications, developing user interface features, and administering existing Asset and Service Management applications. This role requires collaboration with the System Analysis and Development team to support government customers, utilizing various programming languages and tools to enhance organizational offerings and ensure effective communication and functionality of applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build applications using various programming languages, techniques, and tools.
  • Develop user interface features, site animation, and special effects elements.
  • Administer existing Asset and Service Management applications using standard development tools.
  • Develop and administer Microsoft Reporting Services and Crystal Reports according to management requests.
  • Administer and develop a custom Ruby on Rails based asset management website.
  • Draft and maintain SOP documents for the functional category.
  • Develop applications to support the enterprise, including data models, databases, and interfaces.
  • Plan tests, prepare test data, execute testing, and repair errors before implementation.
  • Prepare and distribute end-user manuals and online help facilities.
  • Provide advice on automating functions and integrating requirements with existing capabilities.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain an IT I level certification IAW AR 25-2 and an IAT-II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M.
  • Five to seven years of experience in application programming.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in coding, debugging, testing, configuration, and analysis of application programs.
  • Strong background in writing and decoding C# and JavaScript.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Ruby and Ruby on Rails framework.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
  • Knowledge of current Asset and Service Management software (e.g., Remedy ITSM).
  • Experience using Visual Basic.
