About The Position

Join our dynamic team an Application Design Engineer – MV Drives and be at the forefront of technical innovation and customer success! We're seeking a talented individual who can bridge the gap between complex engineering solutions and customer needs. This role offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence while shaping technical solutions from tender to delivery. The Application Design Engineer – MV Drives is responsible for customer order engineering activities around complex MV Adjustable Frequency Drive systems. The primary responsibilities will be to develop customer specific MV drive system design packages.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical engineering is required.
  • 5 + years of successful and pertinent experience with MV drives &/or MV switchgear.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical standards including NEC, UL-347A, UL-347.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Drafting software (AutoCad, ProEngineer, Solidworks).
  • Ability to effectively design and document drive assemblies given basic conceptual information
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Excellent problem resolution skills
  • Ability to positively interact with marketing and manufacturing personnel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Medium Voltage (MV) Drive Solutions, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Own end-to-end execution of MV Drive projects from order entry to delivery and site support.
  • Translate customer requirements into compliant technical solutions, integrating CD&E and applicable standards.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to resolve technical queries related to MV VFD designs and specifications.
  • Collaborate with design teams to develop schematics, layouts, and bills of materials for customer-specific solutions.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination to meet project goals for quality, cost, schedule, and compliance.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring timely closure and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with manufacturing to address and resolve production-related challenges.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation in line with company standards.
  • Provide post-delivery technical support to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites to support commissioning or other service activities
