About the position

The Application Deployment Engineer is responsible for providing application and operating system design implementation, image creation, application and patch testing, packaging, deployment, and overall support for end user devices and environments. This includes mobile and desktop devices across various operating systems such as Windows and Apple iOS. The role involves product research and recommendations to enhance the deployment process.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the full spectrum of end user application, patching and operating system support for varying devices/environments.
  • Install and configure end user application and operating system software.
  • Utilize automated deployment and management tools for application distribution.
  • Responsible for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, documentation, technical support, and testing of applications worldwide.
  • Review and evaluate periodic critical security notifications and execute planned patch and service pack management.
  • Perform analysis for new and currently installed applications.
  • Implement new applications from design through post installation stages.
  • Provide user access to applications.
  • Document application installation when additional configuration is required.
  • Ensure rigorous application of Information Security/Information Assurance policies.
  • Respond to calls 24x7x365 (On-Call).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • 3 years experience in administrative, technical, or investigative work.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in application installation, upgrade, troubleshooting, and deployment.
  • Experience in system user account administration and O/S administration (Active Directory, Microsoft Windows).
  • Experience in automated application deployment and LAN system administration.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting including PowerShell and Python.
  • Understanding of front-end and user interface technologies such as HTML, XML, JavaScript, and CSS.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited University in a relevant field.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).
  • Technical certifications like MCDST or MCTS Windows 7 certification.
