About the position

The Apparel/Assistant Department Leader at King Soopers is responsible for assisting in the management of the Apparel department, maximizing financial opportunities, and taking on management responsibilities in the absence of the department manager. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of the Apparel department by maximizing financial opportunities.
  • Assume management responsibilities in the manager's absence.
  • Deliver and encourage other associates to provide excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate and organize merchandising of the department floor.
  • Implement period merchandising bulletins and point-of-sale plans.
  • Maintain compliance with corporate policies and safety guidelines.
  • Plan ads/store events and complete daily tours in the manager's absence.
  • Audit written distribution center returns and review reports in the manager's absence.
  • Verify pricing accuracy and follow up on price changes.
  • Manage maintenance and repair needs of the department.
  • Coach associates in the performance of their duties and provide feedback.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate accuracy/attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks/projects.
  • Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes.
  • Management experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Report Management and Distribution System (RMDS).
  • CPR/first aid certification is desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • BA/BS in business or related field.
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
  • Experience directing or participating on project teams.
