About the position

The Anesthesia Technologist Lead at the University of Rochester serves as a Supervisor for Anesthesia Technical Services, primarily in Pediatric and out-of-OR operating rooms. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of anesthesia technologists, managing staff performance, and ensuring effective communication with medical personnel. The position also includes training staff, developing workflow improvements, and assisting in patient care during anesthesia procedures.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily work of assigned Pediatric and NORA Anesthesia Technologists and provide input for process improvement.
• Manage staff performance through coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance appraisals.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the in-service training program for anesthesia technologists.
• Establish working relationships with nursing and medical staff to review procedures and address issues.
• Develop and propose more effective methods for workflow.
• Participate in setting short-term and long-term departmental goals and objectives.
• Investigate complaints about service and report findings to the Operations Manager.
• Conduct daily reports with shift supervisors to manage staffing and volume fluctuations.
• Instruct technicians in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Assist in patient care during anesthesia procedures and communicate with medical staff.

Requirements

• A four-year college education with related technical training, or a two-year college education with technical training and two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification by the registry of the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other recognized certifying body preferred.

Benefits

• Competitive hourly pay range of $28.50 - $37.06 based on experience and qualifications.
