About The Position

To ensure that business decision making, financial reporting and financial performance with respect to the Searchlight business can be supported by providing analytics, accounting and reporting for revenue activities focused on pricing and trade deal/fund management and execution. The Analyst is responsible for working collaboratively and partnering with both Finance and Sales to set and maintain pricing and related reconciliations across the business.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Business / Accounting or relevant field and Accounting Professional Designation preferred
  • Knowledge of a sales organization’s business processes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of SAP, and BW modules as well as PC based analytical tools such as Access (databases), Excel (spreadsheets), Visual Basic, project management and word processing software.
  • Ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with all levels within the organization in terms of people, processes and systems. Organizational agility.
  • Ability to understand the organizations vision and goals and the ability to communicate and actions them in an effective manner.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong command skills to support forecasting “watchdog” role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to and collaborate with internal and external customers
  • 3-5 years pharmaceutical or business experience (accounting with an emphasis on accrual management, data analytics, forecasting, financial analysis, statistical modeling and analytics)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the monthly and quarterly financial analysis for revenue and trade spend against forecasts and plans by molecule and customer.
  • Responsible for the monthly and quarterly financial analysis and reconciliation of Rep Target performance as established in the Budget submission / Latest Forecast.
  • Responsible for input into pricing decisions as needed.
  • Ensures revenue reporting is in accordance with company policies including revenue recognition rules.
  • Executes and maintains all accruals for gross to net calculations for sales discounts, allowances and trade programs and returns provisions.
  • Verify and analyze sales, chargeback and upfront rates, wholesaler inventories, returns, in-transit shipments, and other data for accuracy and completeness to ensure appropriate reserves and resolve variances to forecast.
  • Prepare monthly channel inventory rollforwards used to calculate channel accruals as needed
  • Provide a variance analysis vs, plan/forecast and present sales and financial results for monthly and quarterly meetings
  • Prepare and maintain journal entries posted for product revenue and gross to-to-net accruals
  • Calculate and provide analysis for financial impact of price changes, returns reserves, chargebacks, and any other adjustments to revenue and gross-to-net assumptions
  • Calculate channel accrual rates by customer and product as part of month-end closing
  • Confirms the validity and appropriateness of payments and deductions
  • Responds and complies with internal and external audit requirements
  • Supports cost center reporting and analysis for the business
  • Assists in the development of budgets and forecasts, including validating pricing and Net Sales assumptions for the IBP process.
