About the position

We are currently looking to fill our Lands and ROW Analyst position with someone who enjoys multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment. This position will review and administer crossing matters for Enbridge Inc. and its entities in the US. The role involves reviewing first and third-party applications for permanent crossings and temporary activities affecting Enbridge assets, issuing permits in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards with minimal direction, and coordinating with internal stakeholders and technical departments in assessing applications that require further technical and/or legal review. The analyst will proactively identify risks and prevent damage to company facilities posed by planned activities, build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, support regulatory compliance, and provide crossing activity guidance to stakeholders. Additionally, the analyst will be involved with the development of business processes and procedures, maintain accurate records of permitted crossing activity, provide internal project support for crossing requirements, and assist members of Engineering Projects, Law, Safety, and Operations to facilitate business initiatives and legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review first and third-party applications for permanent crossings and temporary activities affecting Enbridge assets, and issue permits in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards with minimal direction.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and technical departments in assessing applications that require further technical and/or legal review.
• Proactively identify risks and prevent damage to company facilities posed by planned activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
• Support regulatory compliance and provide crossing activity guidance to stakeholders.
• Involved with development of business processes and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of permitted crossing activity, subject to inspection and audit by regulators and internal audit services.
• Provide internal project support for crossing requirements by reviewing scope and crossing plans and reviewing and negotiating agreements.
• Provide support and assistance to members of Engineering Projects, Law, Safety and Operations in order to facilitate business initiatives and legal compliance.
• Aids and provides guidance to crossing applicants, foreign facility owners, landowners and ensures compliance of design codes, standards and regulations.
• Review and respond to third-party industry notifications.
• Provide support for Damage Prevention initiatives.

Requirements

• Related university degree, diploma or professional land certification or previous relatable experience.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to review and comprehend detailed plans and legal agreements.
• High level of interpersonal skills and initiative in dealing with a variety of external and internal customers and stakeholders (regulators, lawyers, industry, government, landowners and internal departments).
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills - ability to communicate technical and non-technical information to all audiences.
• Effective negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Positive attitude and exceptional attention to detail.
