About the position

The Analyst, Global Ocean Freight plays a crucial role in supporting Hershey's Global Logistics strategy and implementation. This position involves collaboration with various teams, including International Supply Chain, Finance, Domestic Transportation, and Procurement, to manage ocean and drayage transactions effectively. The analyst will maintain a comprehensive understanding of import and export lanes, assist in new lane setups, negotiate rates with carriers, and provide analytical support for the RFQ process. Strong knowledge of international transportation and stakeholder engagement is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate new lane setups for ocean freight and drayage to support shipments to export markets with INTL Supply Chain teams.
• Support logistics analyses for new product and innovation launches cross-functionally.
• Assist Global Ocean Freight Manager and Procurement teams with historical and analytical results for RFQ processes.
• Act as a super user of the logistics visibility platform (Buyco).
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Hershey Business Process teams to recommend improvements to the Logistics Manager.
• Support finance requests for freight cost analyses.
• Maintain the routing guide with contract amendments and fuel schedule updates.
• Drive continuous improvement through scorecarding on carrier performance.
• Resolve Detention and Demurrage disputes with the freight billing team.
• Collaborate with various teams to support company freight savings goals for ocean freight and drayage.

• At least 2-3+ years operational experience in ocean/drayage modes of transport.
• Experience in analytical analysis and scorecarding.
• Logistics tracking and analytics software experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (both written & verbal).
• Effective organization and project management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience in Power BI and/or other analytical tools preferred.
• College degree in Business Administration, International Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related degree preferred.
