About the position
The Ambulatory Nurse in the Neurology department at Dayton Children's Hospital is a part-time nursing position focused on providing high-quality care to patients. This role involves performing treatments, administering medications, and assisting in procedures while ensuring patient education and advocacy. The nurse will work collaboratively with families to enhance health outcomes and will report directly to the Administrative Manager.
Responsibilities
- Perform treatments and administer medications to patients.
- Assist in procedures performed without anesthesia while utilizing aseptic technique.
- Provide patient and family education to improve health outcomes.
- Involve family/significant others in planning health care and health decisions.
- Delegate and evaluate health care tasks to assistive personnel according to hospital nursing plans.
- Advocate for individual patient needs and rights regarding medical care.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Associate's degree in nursing.
