About the position
As an Amazon Sortation Center Warehouse Associate, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team that serves as the first stop in the journey of packages from the warehouse to customers. This role is fast-paced and physical, taking place in a sortation center where you will be responsible for sorting, scanning, and stacking packages on pallets to prepare customer orders for delivery. The position offers flexibility, allowing you to choose shifts that best fit your schedule, with the option to adjust your hours as needed in the future. Your duties will include receiving and sorting inventory, getting customer orders ready for delivery, and utilizing technology such as scanners, computers, and handheld printers. The role requires physical stamina, as you will need to lift up to 49 pounds and perform various movements including standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching during your shifts. You may also be required to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment to move items around, navigate stairs, and work at heights of up to 40 feet on a mezzanine in certain locations. The work environment includes moving machinery such as order pickers and forklifts, and while the temperature is controlled, it can vary significantly within the warehouse.
