About the position

The Alternative Investment Tax Supervisor at U.S. Bank plays a crucial role in overseeing tax compliance for alternative investment funds. This position involves collaborating with internal teams, investment advisors, and accounting firms to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance. The supervisor will manage multiple tax engagements, conduct detailed reviews of tax filings, and provide guidance on tax-related issues, all while contributing to the professional development of team members through mentorship and training programs.

Responsibilities

• Detailed review of taxable income calculations, including analyses for identifying book-to-tax differences and allocation of taxable income and tax provisions.
• Review various Federal and State tax compliance filings and forms including Forms 1099, 1120, 1065, Schedule K-1, 1042, 8804, 8805, 8865, and 5471s.
• Coordinate the tax compliance process with clients and their tax advisors.
• Assist with research of tax and financial reporting technical topics and guidance for proper reporting.
• Manage multiple tax engagements throughout the year, ensuring timelines for deliverables are adhered to.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.
• Eight or more years of related work experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in accounting or tax a plus.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus.
• 3-5+ years of professional tax experience in public accounting or industry.
