About the position

The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) at David's Bridal plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Alterations department. This position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, managing customer interactions, and supporting the alterations process to enhance the customer experience. The CSR is responsible for welcoming customers, managing appointments, and ensuring that garments are ready for pickup, all while maintaining high standards of service and store organization.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome all customers with genuine enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats, and in person.
  • Use all systems to manage customer flow to deliver a five-star customer experience.
  • Meet all service vows including Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs & Be There for all customers.
  • Provide exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously and proactively address customer concerns.
  • Effectively communicate the importance of alterations in perfecting dresses for events.
  • Promote all alterations services and personalization options.
  • Maintain store standards for cleanliness, organization, and promotional readiness.
  • Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.
  • Press, steam, and spot clean all merchandise.
  • Follow quality control guidelines and inspect all garments before final delivery to customers.
  • Build long-term relationships to exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support inventory management by processing special orders and ensuring quality standards.
  • Process transactions accurately at the cash wrap to celebrate every customer.
  • Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager for unresolved customer issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized alterations room.
  • Perform duties as assigned by store management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent degree.
  • 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.
  • Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service roles within retail environments.
  • Knowledge of garment alterations and fitting processes.
