About the position
The Latin American and Caribbean Studies program at Rollins College is offering a two-year postdoctoral fellowship aimed at scholars who have recently earned a doctorate with a focus on Latin America and/or the Caribbean. This position is designed to prepare the fellow for a career in a liberal arts college environment, emphasizing interdisciplinary teaching and significant research. The fellow will teach three courses annually, including a core course in collaboration with a tenured professor, and will engage actively in the program's activities.
Responsibilities
- Teach three courses each year, including team-teaching a core course in the fall semester and two courses in the spring semester.
- Integrate Latin American Studies into the liberal arts curriculum.
- Pursue a significant research agenda in the field of Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
- Participate actively in the Latin American and Caribbean Studies program.
- Work with a Latin American student organization and create campus programming.
- Organize and co-lead field study experiences.
- Deliver a research talk on campus.
Requirements
- Earned a doctorate within the last three years in any academic discipline with a geographical focus on Latin America and/or the Caribbean.
- PhD must be in hand by June 1, 2025.
- Demonstrated interest in a career at a liberal arts institution.
- Interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship capabilities.
- Significant research agenda in the field.
