About the position

This position entails skilled technical work in the installation, adjustment, and repair of electronic components at Miami International Airport. Employees are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, replacing, and calibrating various airport electronic systems, including security doors, air handler unit controls, baggage conveyor systems, moving walkways, passenger loading bridges, HVAC systems, and other building management and control systems. The work requires the use of precision test instruments and specialized hand tools to maintain and repair these electronic systems and equipment. Incumbents exercise independent judgment in diagnosing and repairing complex electronic systems in accordance with technical specifications. Supervision is provided by a technical superior, who assists with difficult or unusual issues and inspects work both in progress and upon completion to ensure proper functioning of all installed, repaired, or maintained equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Use precision test instruments and specialized hand tools for maintenance and repair.
  • Exercise independent judgment in diagnosing and repairing complex electronic systems.
  • Work under the supervision of a technical superior for difficult or unusual issues.

Requirements

  • Eighth grade education or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in installation, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.
  • Experience with high and low voltage systems such as CATV, CCTV, UHF/VHF radio communications, Physical Access Control, or Building Automation and SCADA systems.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Ability to work a permanent or rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
