About the position

GFT is seeking an Airport Commissioning Agent to join our Construction Services Group in Miami, FL! This role requires someone to be onsite at Miami International Airport 5 days per week. We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of all components, materials, and systems.
  • Coordinate, perform and oversee detailed field commissioning services, assessments, and studies for all types of facilities/systems including HVAC, Plumbing, Control Panels, Fire Systems, Security Systems, Baggage Handling, and Information Displays.
  • Generate commissioning plans; write commissioning specifications; develop commissioning installation checklists and functional test procedures.
  • Verify and validate commissioned systems controls and equipment.
  • Document commissioning process, develop final commissioning report, and develop systems manuals.
  • Facilitate collaboration between the building owner, design team, contractors, and facility operators.
  • Identify potential problems and develop solutions to ensure the project meets its goals.
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the project, including management, verification, scheduling, and testing.
  • Monitor the performance of the systems after they are operational to ensure they continue to meet the owner's needs.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR a 2 Year Technical Associates Degree from an accredited institution with practical commissioning, controls, or testing experience.
  • Must have five (5) years or more experience in the commissioning of HVAC, Controls, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Security, and Electrical Systems.
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience.
