About The Position

RS&H is currently seeking an airfield engineering associate to join our passionate aviation team in Tampa, FL. In this role, you will collaborate in an in-office team environment to plan and design civil infrastructure projects for airports across the United States. You will work daily in AutoCAD to develop engineering plans, including airfield geometric design, civil site and land development, and renovations or modifications to existing civil infrastructure. Under the mentorship of experienced aviation and civil engineers, you will support a wide range of projects, including runway, taxiway, and apron improvements; asphalt and concrete pavement design; and stormwater and utility infrastructure systems. Occasional travel (generally less than 25%) will provide opportunities to coordinate directly with airport authorities, airlines, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and construction management teams—helping you gain firsthand insight into project requirements and real-world aviation operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Willingness to learn different software platforms such as AutoCAD.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Willingness to ask why when you don’t understand.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineering Internship (EI) exam or intent to complete within six months of hire.
