About the position

The Aircraft Mechanic-Powerplant is responsible for performing maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting on various aircraft systems, particularly focusing on power plants. This role requires advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and provide guidance to other employees. The mechanic will work on aircraft components, ensuring operational efficiency and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all aircraft main, auxiliary, secondary power systems, fuel systems, engine level and bleed air components.
• Performs troubleshooting, testing, and operational checks of power plant systems, replacing or repairing worn or damaged components.
• Removes engines from aircraft, disassembles and inspects parts for defects, and repairs or replaces defective parts before reassembling and reinstalling the engine.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, technical directives, and safety manuals.
• May be required to perform off-site service on assigned detachments.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years' experience in aircraft maintenance, with the last two years in military or government aviation maintenance.
• Experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any required clearance, qualification, or certifications.
• Prior Military must present Member 4 DD214 with Honorable Discharge.
• Must have a valid State Driver's License.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
• Must have recent experience with F-18A-F, EA-18G, E-2C, MH-60S aircraft.
