About the position
The Ramp Agent position at Worldwide Flight Services involves loading and unloading cargo from aircraft, transporting cargo between terminals, and ensuring the safe and timely handling of freight. The role requires working in various environmental conditions and performing physical tasks related to cargo management and aircraft servicing. The Ramp Agent plays a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency and security at the airport.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload aircraft of cargo weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft.
- Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers with/to aircraft.
- Drive vehicles with gross weights of 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested areas.
- Engage in push-out of aircraft driving 80,000 lb. vehicle or assist by providing guide function to driver.
- Read 'off-load' sheets to determine destination of cargo.
- Lift, connect, and remove overhead 40 lb. KVA electric cable to/from aircraft.
- De-ice aircraft at heights of up to 20 - 80 ft.
Requirements
- HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to successfully communicate with others
