About The Position

The AI Initiatives Intern will support the organization’s efforts to identify, develop, and implement artificial intelligence (AI) and automation solutions that improve business processes, efficiency, and data insights. This role provides hands-on exposure to real-world AI applications within a manufacturing environment, working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, HR, and business teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in: Computer Science, Data Science / Analytics, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, etc.), Information Systems or related field
• Strong interest in AI, automation, and emerging technologies
• Basic knowledge of data analysis or visualization tools
• Ability to think critically and solve problems
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of Python, SQL, or similar (preferred but not required)
• Experience with AI/ML concepts or coursework
• Familiarity with tools such as: Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps
• Familiarity with ChatGPT, Copilot, or other AI platforms
• Exposure to process improvement or Lean concepts

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying opportunities to apply AI and automation across business functions (e.g., operations, HR, engineering, sales)
• Support development and testing of AI tools (e.g., copilots, chatbots, data models, workflow automations)
• Conduct research on AI technologies, tools, and trends relevant to business use cases
• Help gather, organize, and prepare data for use in AI models and analytics
• Participate in pilot projects and proof-of-concept initiatives
• Document processes, findings, and results of AI initiatives
• Assist with governance and responsible AI practices (data privacy, appropriate use)
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand workflows and identify improvement opportunities
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership
