About the position

The Agronomy Research Plot Technician Intern will assist in managing regional agronomic research plots as part of the WinField Answer Plot® Program. This role involves hands-on work with farm and drone equipment, seed preparation, and field operations, providing valuable support to local farmers in understanding crop performance and making informed decisions for their operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Answer Plot crews with managing regional plots.
• Prepare and operate farm and drone equipment.
• Conduct seed preparation and equipment transport.
• Execute field operations and GIS applications.
• Perform foliar applications with a backpack sprayer and collect tissue samples.
• Conduct root ratings and other metadata collection as necessary.
• Ensure accurate mixing and application of fertilizer and/or chemicals per blend sheet specifications.
• Follow safety rules, regulations, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Stay current on agronomic products, trends, and precision agriculture technologies.

Requirements

• Pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree, preferably in an agricultural related major or program.
• General knowledge of regional crop growth and development.
• Satisfactory level of technical knowledge in agronomy, ag technology, and crop sciences preferred.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize work tasks.
• Ability to obtain a pesticide applicator's license.
• Possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Nice-to-haves
