About the position
The position involves supporting the maintenance staff at Augusta National Golf Club (ANGC) by applying knowledge of agronomics and equipment operation. The role focuses on assisting with golf course maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment, and maintaining the aesthetic quality of the golf course.
Responsibilities
- Assists in pesticide and fertilizer applications.
- Performs calibrations of spreader and sprayer units.
- Mows greens, approaches, collars, fairways, and second cut with appropriate equipment.
- Portrays a positive image of ANGC to members, guests, and fellow employees.
- Administers ANGC water management philosophy for various grass types.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
- Operates, inspects, and cleans equipment according to ANGC guidelines.
- Identifies disease and pest issues and reports them to management.
- Assists in irrigation repair and maintenance.
- Proposes improvement ideas to the Golf Course Management team.
- Utilizes safety equipment provided by ANGC.
- Works in a manner that does not disrupt members and guests.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge and operational experience of turf equipment.
- Basic understanding of golf course etiquette in a private atmosphere.
- Participation in an accredited Turf program or related field.
- Previous experience in landscaping or grounds keeping environment required.
- Possess a valid driver's license and/or complete the Club's internal motor vehicle training program.
