About the position

The Agricultural Field Enumerator position at NASDA is a part-time role focused on collecting agricultural data from farmers and agricultural businesses. This position offers flexible hours, the opportunity to work from home, and the chance to contribute to the agricultural community by providing essential data for USDA/NASS reports. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining accurate records of interviews conducted.

Responsibilities

• Collect reliable and accurate crop or livestock data from farmers and agricultural businesses.
• Conduct interviews in person or by phone with farm operators and other individuals.
• Submit detailed and legible records of interviews via USDA-supplied iPad.
• Submit accurate digital timesheets for hours worked.
• Respond promptly to emails from the direct territory Supervisor.
• Travel locally to designated farms to perform interviews as needed.

Requirements

• Experience multitasking in a deadline-oriented work environment.
• Ability to positively represent NASDA in all survey actions.
• Ability to read maps and understand aerial photo/satellite views.
• Maintain a reliable personal vehicle for travel.
• Conduct interviews in person or by telephone with farm operators and other individuals.
• Knowledge about computers or iPads.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and organized with a positive attitude.
