About the position
The Agile Project Manager will play a crucial role in leading Agile teams within one of the largest credit unions in the United States. This hybrid position, based in Tysons Corner, VA, requires a strong project management background and extensive Agile expertise to ensure effective collaboration, delivery, and continuous improvement in project execution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing project scope, budgets, and resources while coaching teams through Agile transitions to foster a high-performance environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Agile teams, ensuring effective collaboration, delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee project scope, budgets, forecasts, and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Utilize Jira to manage project backlogs, track progress, and optimize team workflows.
- Coach and mentor teams through Agile transitions, fostering a high-performance environment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, providing transparency into project status, risks, and roadblocks.
- Shape and transform project teams to adapt to changing environments and requirements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of solid experience with Agile methodologies.
- Proven track record of working in financial services, with an understanding of industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
- Strong expertise in Jira for project tracking and team management.
- Demonstrated ability to shape and transform teams for optimal performance and continuous delivery.
- Extensive project management experience, including handling budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
- Must be able to work onsite 4+ days per week in Tysons Corner, VA.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working in Credit Unions or Banking.
- Experience leading teams through Agile transitions or providing Agile coaching.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, knowing when to push or remain flexible regarding team processes and norms.
