About the position
Easterseals PORT Health is seeking independent contractors to become Alternative Family Living (AFL) Providers in Jacksonville and surrounding areas. As an AFL provider, you will offer a stable and caring home for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges, helping them to live, grow, and integrate into the community while working towards their daily living skills and independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide a stable and caring home for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges.
- Support individuals in achieving their daily living skills and independence goals.
- Facilitate integration into the community for supported individuals.
- Coordinate with day programs or other services as needed for the supported individual.
Requirements
- Ability to provide a stable and caring home environment.
- Experience or willingness to work with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in caregiving or support roles.
- Training in developmental disabilities or mental health.
