About The Position

The Astronomy, Mathematics, and Physics Department at Regis University is seeking an affiliate faculty member to teach an upper-level introduction to electronics course. This is a part-time, in-person position. The faculty member will provide instruction and facilitate active problem-solving in either digital or analog electronics, as determined through consultation with the department chair, at a level appropriate for students. They will also keep complete and accurate grade records, evaluate student performance, and communicate regularly with students and the department chair. Additionally, faculty will maintain regular office hours to provide students with academic support, dedicating 1 hour per week for this purpose. Faculty will participate in designing their own course in consultation with the chair of the department.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline or closely related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in engineering, physics, or a related field.
  • Experience as a Professional Engineer or working with electronics as an experimental physicist.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction and facilitate active problem-solving in either digital or analog electronics, as determined through consultation with the department chair, at a level appropriate for our students.
  • Keep complete and accurate grade records.
  • Evaluate student performance.
  • Communicate regularly with students and the department chair, including via Regis-provided email.
  • Maintain regular office hours to provide students with academic support appropriate for the teaching assignment-- 1 hour per week.
  • Participate in designing their own course in consultation with the chair of the department.
