About the position
The SCS Maintenance Technician at KBR is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various systems and equipment in support of the U.S. Air Force's operations in Japan. This role involves performing emergency and preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems, food service equipment, and general facility maintenance, ensuring mission-critical support in the INDOPACOM area. The technician will also manage maintenance records and adhere to safety regulations while working with various tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform emergency/preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems and other equipment.
- Maintain and repair freezer and refrigeration units, food service equipment, and fitness equipment.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain commercial kitchen hood and duct exhaust systems.
- Repair and maintain the site's mechanical locks and signage.
- Inspect fire extinguishers and make repair/replacement recommendations.
- Perform general preventative maintenance tasks on assigned HVAC units and structures.
- Maintain and operate material handling equipment and snow removal equipment.
- Drive company vehicles for mail pick-up and delivery runs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 5 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one prior to deployment.
- EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification or ability to obtain it within 30 days of arrival.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Maximo software.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations for fuels, refrigerants, and hazardous materials.
- Ability to interpret drawings and schematics.
