About the position
The SCS Maintenance Technician role at KBR involves providing essential maintenance and repair services for various equipment and facilities in support of the U.S. Air Force at communications sites in Japan. The technician will perform inspections, diagnostics, and emergency/preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, food service equipment, and other facility-related systems, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform emergency/preventive maintenance on various equipment.
- Maintain and repair freezer and refrigeration units, food service equipment, appliances, and HVAC equipment.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain commercial kitchen hood and duct exhaust systems.
- Repair and maintain the site's mechanical locks and fabricate/install base signage.
- Inspect fire extinguishers and make repair/replacement recommendations.
- Perform general preventative maintenance tasks on HVAC units and power generation equipment.
- Maintain and operate material handling equipment (MHE) and snow removal equipment.
- Drive company vehicles for mail pick-up and delivery runs.
Requirements
- US Citizen with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in maintenance and repair.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one prior to deployment.
- EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification or ability to obtain it within 30 days of arrival.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R systems, controls, and components.
- Proficient in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment.
