About the position

The Aerospace & Defense Industry Manager at MathWorks is responsible for driving the adoption of Technical Computing and Model-Based Design products within the Aerospace & Defense sectors. This role involves developing and executing strategic plans, collaborating with various teams, and shaping the perception of MathWorks in the industry. The manager will also engage with customers to understand their needs and promote MathWorks products effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and guidance to American sales and services personnel for the AeroDef industry.
  • Understand customer needs through visits and develop appropriate messaging.
  • Support key sales opportunities and drive product adoption with sales teams and key customers.
  • Strategize with account managers to increase account penetration and establish best practices for sales.
  • Drive awareness of MathWorks within the AeroDef industry across the Americas.
  • Develop marketing programs and supporting materials to promote products in the Americas.
  • Produce articles, technical papers, and user stories relevant to the AeroDef industry.
  • Deliver presentations at conferences and industry events as the AeroDef spokesperson for the Americas.
  • Develop a business strategy for the AeroDef industry in the Americas.
  • Execute the AeroDef industry strategy and business plan, reviewing progress with an internal board of advisors.
  • Collaborate with engineering staff to capture AeroDef customer needs for product development.
  • Analyze AeroDef business performance and identify new market opportunities.

Requirements

  • MS or higher degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of strong knowledge and experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Experience with MathWorks products (MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow) or other multi-domain simulation software.
  • Experience and motivation supporting sales and engaging with customers in a multi-national environment.
  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience, or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or Product marketing experience.
  • Prior employment with a leading corporation in aerospace or defense.
  • Experience with a global software company.
  • Experience in forecasting and economic analysis.
