About the position

The Advanced/Senior Generation Specialist at Fort Martin Power Station is responsible for coordinating outage and non-outage projects, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations. This role requires proficiency in technical processes, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute activities related to contractor-performed outage and non-outage projects.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and oversight to outage coordinators.
  • Develop estimates for labor and material for projects.
  • Prepare and maintain outage and project records.
  • Coordinate outage and project work within an approved schedule and budget.
  • Develop and submit outage/project work orders.
  • Support risk assessment and develop risk mitigation plans for outage/project work.
  • Maintain the outage work backlog.
  • Provide planning support for forced outages and planned outage projects.
  • Develop outage scope documents.
  • Provide safety oversight of contractor-performed outage and non-outage projects.
  • Conduct contractor safety orientation and complete incident reports.
  • Assist the Outage Supervisor in executing forced outages and developing project estimates, budgets, and schedules.
  • Support station personnel in monitoring equipment system health and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 4-7 years of experience in a power plant setting or work management (in lieu of a degree).
  • 7-10 years of experience in a power plant setting or work management for senior candidates.
  • Understanding of basic power station operation, equipment, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in work management software and strong SAP knowledge.
  • Qualified or able to qualify in the use of various power station support and mobile equipment.
  • Experience with coordinating projects, outages, or equivalent projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Experience with scheduling software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with coordinating outages or equivalent projects is preferred.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary to meet deadlines.
