About The Position

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Division of Cardiology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to provide specialty medical care in General Cardiology within the Outpatient setting. This position is located at Froedtert Hospital- Center for Advanced Care (CFAC) in Milwaukee. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. Position Highlights: Join a welcoming & cohesive team Collaborate with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis & treatment of conditions requiring Cardiovascular intervention in the outpatient setting Collaborate with cross-department healthcare teams for management of cardiovascular disease Serve as liaison with RNs to ensure continuity of core rounds Perform a variety of patient visits- new patient referrals & outpatient follow ups Order, perform, & interpret screening & diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicate & document information Engage and educate patients & families Teach & mentor staff

Requirements

  • Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
  • Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
  • Wisconsin RN License
  • Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
  • Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization
  • Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • BLS
  • CITI Certification to be completed within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Previous outpatient, inpatient, adult care, acute care, &/or critical care Cardiology PA, NP, &/or RN experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities
