About the position
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position in Electrophysiology at Ascension St. John involves providing comprehensive medical services to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role requires collaboration with a dedicated cardiology team to deliver high-quality care, including patient assessments, diagnostic studies, and health management. The APP will also engage in patient education and documentation in accordance with nursing policies and specialty standards.
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient history and perform assessments via observation, interview, and examination.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
- Perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and patient care.
- Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via referrals to other healthcare providers or community resources.
- Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
- Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
Requirements
- RN License
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Experience in primary care or mid-level practice
- Patient observation skills
- Ability to perform diagnostic studies and health assessments
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in cardiology or electrophysiology
- Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Cerner
