About the position

In this role, you will provide ongoing case management and community supervision of offenders participating in the Wellness Courts and Coordinated Resource (CRP) or Mental Health Court Program with the Therapeutic Court in Palmer. You will perform the initial intake/risk assessment upon initial opt-in to the therapeutic court program. You will also meet with offenders/participants on a regular basis to monitor the process and track compliance with court-ordered requirements. You will conduct routine field visits, curfew checks, and alcohol and drug screenings. You will participate in court hearings and prepare written reports for all status hearings. Serve as a liaison between the Therapeutic Court participant and professionals in the justice system and local social service agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing case management and community supervision of offenders in the Wellness Courts and Mental Health Court Program.
  • Perform initial intake/risk assessment upon opt-in to the therapeutic court program.
  • Meet regularly with offenders/participants to monitor compliance with court-ordered requirements.
  • Conduct routine field visits, curfew checks, and alcohol and drug screenings.
  • Participate in court hearings and prepare written reports for all status hearings.
  • Serve as a liaison between Therapeutic Court participants and professionals in the justice system and local social service agencies.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in any field.
  • One year of entry-level professional experience in probation, parole, criminal justice, juvenile justice, social services, corrections, criminal investigation, public safety or law enforcement, mental health, substance abuse treatment, rehabilitation, or case management.
  • Valid Alaska's Driver's License.
  • Ability to use the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (ASPIN) and pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
