About the position

The Calaveras County Office of Education ("CCOE") partners with our four local school districts and the community to provide quality education to our county's 5,270 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grades. We manage alternative education programs for students at Calaveras River Academy, Mountain Oaks Charter School (an Independent Study program), and Oakendell Community School. We also offer adult education services, and a variety of special education services as the Responsible Local Agency ("RLA") for the Special Education Local Plan Area ("SELPA"); including, five special education preschool programs and a program for transition-aged young adults (ages 18-22). CCOE is now hiring for a variety of full and part-time positions, whether serving in the classroom or supporting operations outside of the classroom. Responsibilities

  • Provide quality education to students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grades.
  • Manage alternative education programs for students.
  • Offer adult education services.
  • Provide special education services as the Responsible Local Agency for the Special Education Local Plan Area.

Requirements

  • Valid and appropriate California teaching credential.
  • English Learner Authorization (Credential copy showing ELA, CLAD Cert, BCLAD certification or an explanation as to why this requirement is not met).
  • Copy of Transcript.
  • Letter of Introduction (Formal Letter of Interest).
  • Three Letters of Recommendation (preferably from former employers or supervisors).
  • Resume highlighting experience as a successful instructional leader and expertise in effective lesson design and delivery.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with English Learners.
